Das Buch ist eine große Liste von Ausreden, die Männer und Frauen für Männer finden. Es hat mir die Augen geöffnet und bisher einer Freundin von mir. Empfehlenswert!

Kurzweiliger Hausverstand-Ersatz, aber leider nicht mehr!

Ich habe diese Buch gekauft und gelesen ohne wirklich zu wissen was auf mich zukommt. Ich wollte einfach verstehen warum um diese Buch in den USA so ein Kult besteht. Erwartet hatte ich einen Roman, gelesen hab ich ein Dr. Sommer Kompendium und für das bin ich mit meinen 28 Jahren dann wohl schon etwas zu alt.

Da ich mich nicht als direkte Zielgruppe eines Selbsthilfe-Buchs für Frauen die immer wieder an den Falschen geraten sehe, kann ich nicht beurteilen wie hilfreich die Tipps in dem Buch für Betroffene" tatsächlich sind. Wenn man allerdings mehr als die offensichtlichen Lass dich nicht mit einem Mann ein der bis zum Exzess trinkt" oder Verheiratete Männer sind tabu" wird allerdings etwas enttäuscht werden.

Positiv hervorzuheben ist dass das Buch eigentlich recht flüssig und unterhaltsam geschrieben ist. Wer etwas mehr als Schulenglisch mitbringt sollte auch bei der englischen Ausgabe keine gröberen Probleme haben dem Inhalt zu folgen. Auch dass einige Phrasen der Rubrik Mann-Deutsch" (oder in dem Fall Englisch) aufgelistet sind ist durchwegs lustig zu lesen. Eine Portion Hausverstand hätte aber im Zweifelsfall wohl auch die richtige Übersetzung geliefert.

Dieses Buch ist einfach nur Klasse.
Lustig geschrieben aber es steckt so viel Wahrheit drin. Ich hab es in einer Situation bestellt, in der ich jemand kannte und ich irgendwie das gefühl hatte "He is just not that into me". Aber irgendwie, hab ich immer ausreden gefunden. Dann laß ich dieses buch und so viele Situationen die darin beschrieben sind, haben mich nachdenken lasen.
Klar, habe ich nicht sofort den Kontakt abgebrochen. Aber es hat mir geholfen nach einiger Zeit einen Schlussstrich zu ziehen und leichter drüber hin weg zu kommen.

This book helped me so much, to understanding guys a bit better.
The strategys work very well, as far as I can tell. If you've had enough confusion about dating guys and their behavior, read this book!

nothing a woman really needs!

Actually one should not need to read this book in order to be able to make the right decisions, I do not understand, why one needs to read an advisory book, does not intuition helb enough?
I also do not find one should supress natural behaviour, actually it is just as important for a woman to show her interest as it is for a guy.
Advicing, how a female should "female-like" behave is reducing a person to its sex. I don't think one can reduce male and female to male and female behavior, not even in dating. the book implies all guys do and behave the same and have the same preferences. That can't be true.
So, I do think a guy should show his interest, but so DOES a woman (of course without running after the guy) but advising women waiting for the guy asking them out and not calling as first when she actually wants to is too much, absolute rubbish. That's the point at which I must ask, in which century we live in?!
I think it's always better to be oneself as following any written rules, that's the only way one can find a partner, which really suits. :-))) So I don't think, this book is something a woman really needs. I found some parts even really boring.

Verändert das Leben

Ein tolles schwingvoll geschriebenes Buch, welches - so man will - das Leben verändert. Auf der Website www.makeeverymanwantyou.com findet man auch schon vieles zu diesem Thema. Die Anregungen sind authentisch und nicht eine der üblichen Maschen, die dann doch nicht funktionieren. Es macht Spaß das Buch zu lesen und immer wieder rein zu schauen und dann auch im Alltag nach und nach die Anregungen umzusetzen.

Habe mir das Buch auf Empfehlung eines Freundes gekauft. Er meinte, das soll gut sein. In dem Buch geht es darum, nicht nur alle Männer rumzubekommen und eine Strategie zu entwickeln, sondern auch zu sich selber zu stehen, nicht dauernd rum zu jammern und stets die Wahrheit sagen, mit Dingen im reinen sein und sich klar zu machen, dass man schon ein Leben hat und das Leben nicht erst beginnt oder komplett wird, wenn man einen Mann an seiner Seite hat. Vieles was in dem Buch steht, weiß man schon und es wird einem nochmal vor Augen gehalten. Dennoch gibt es einem Kraft und wieder einen klaren Blick für das Wesentliche!

This book was first recommended to me when I was student teaching. The principles worked so well in the classroom, I decided to re-read it when I had my own child. Even though my baby is only 10 months old, I have already benefited from the values taught in this book. I have begun to teach myself to think on the levels taught, and it is helping in ALL of my relationships- respecting and listening, thinking and focusing on the people we love. This book is as valuable now as it was twenty years ago. Every parent should own a copy.

I was worried when I bought this that it might be a little too American for my British taste, but it really is a book that applies to any relationship, anywhere. It is written as I would like all books to be written, with real examples and review lists of the important points. It makes you think things through and see things from the child's point of view, which can be quite an eye-opener. This is a book you can immediately put into practise with amazing results. I always had the feeling I could be handling things better - and now I know how.

Please, do your kids AND yourself sanity a favor. These skills should be required High School material! The world would be a much better place if everyone grew up with parents who knew and used these skills!

Read it and use it daily. It's an older book but it still makes sense today. Best of all it works! The whole thought process is to show and tell children how to respect you as the parent, themselves and others. It's very similar to "Mommy-CEO," another book I'd highly suggest to parents and adults in general. In fact, the authors are right on target with goals to stop backtalk and encourage caring and sharing in real relationships. They also create an easy guideline to follow right in the office enviornment to build stability and respect with co-workers. Allowing others to feel good about themselves and their ideas will only provide for a win-win situation.

For me as a men this book is funny.
It is funny to know what you women do to catch and keep us.
Don't get me wrong those tactics will work on most men.
But to be honest, you don't have to do that much.
I personaly wouldn't like to be treated like that.
Just be sexy and friendly and you will get him. ;)

I was delighted with the contents of this teaching guide. The skills pages, tests, and literay connections are well-written and user-friendly. The materials are rich in quality and very useful for classroom purposes. Each chapter includes Student Directives that can be used in a variety of ways, Vocubulary to anticpate along the reading as well as chapter summaries. There are pages of Character Development, Figurative Language, Plot Development and the springboard for many writing topics.

Ich kann dieses Buch für neu-anfangende Lehrer nur empfehlen. Mir hat es am Anfang sehr geholfen. Die activities sind gut erklärt, man muss das Buch nicht mit in den Unterricht nehmen und kann so tun, als "schüttele man diese Idee aus dem Ärmel". Einige Übungen gefielen mir am Anfang nicht, sind aber im Laufe der Jahre interessant geworden. Zu diversen Übungen gibt es Vokabellisten/Beispiele, die nach level geordnet sind. Fazit: kaum Vorbereitung - gute Ergebnisse!

I bought this book a few years ago on a trip to Hong Kong, and it has greatly improved my teaching. This is a book of short activities that can be used to open or close a class, or to provide a little variety. The range of ideas is great. I have found students very responsive to the activities in this book, and would recommend it to any teacher who is having experiencing boredom or frustration with their classes.

I've had a copy of this book since 1995. I keep it in my bag of things for class as it helps to fill in those odd minutes of leftover time.
Here in China I find the activities can be used for much longer than 5 minutes.
I highly recommend it. Money well spent.

Ich habe dieses Buch vor der Entbindung gelesen und an die darin enthaltenen Regeln naiv geglaubt. ... Und daran, dass man einem Baby praktisch von Anfang an einen Rhythmus aufzwingen kann. Das Leben hat mir was anderes gezeigt - erst nach den ersten 3 Monaten hat mein Baby seinen Rhythmus gefunden und es ist nicht so wie in diesem Buch vorgegeben.
Ich habe mich auch gewundert, dass Frau Hogg es immer gelungen ist, Babys so zu "erziehen", wie sie bzw. die Eltern es wollten.
Zum Positiven - es gibt ein Paar Tipps, die ich für mich aus diesem Buch mitgenommen habe. Z.B. man muss mit dem Baby alles ruhig und mit viel Geduld machen. Einfach das ganze Leben ein paar Gänge zurückschalten.
Zusammenfassend - das Buch ist nicht realistisch, ein paar wertvolle Tipps kann man ihm aber entnehmen

I read this book in 2 days when my child was almost 5 months old and it changed my life: EASY helped me to realize that parenting brings not only stress but also joy and that one can still have time for yourself without being a bad parent. I keep this book on my table. It is an excellent parent for the future parents.

wie mein Vorschreiber verfüge ich über Bellmanns "Kosmos Libellenführer" und den Bestimmungsschlüssel von Lehmann/Nüss.Beides wichtige Wegbegleiter für einen Hobby-Libellenkundler. Erst durch den Field Guide lassen sich auch Zweifel bei der Bestimmung , bei relativ ungünstigen Aufnahmen vornehmen,da die Zeichnungen und Erklärungen viel detaillierter im Dijkstra erklärt werden. Die wohl beste Investition für den fortgeschrittenen Laien aber auch Profi.

Ich habe einige Bestimmungsbücher ausprobiert, aber dieses war eindeutig das beste. Die Zeichnungen sind hervorragend und belegen die Bestimmungsmerkmale eindeutig, was auf Fotos sonst oft nicht zu erkennen ist. Wenn das Buch auch in englischer Sprache verfasst ist, lassen sich die Arten meist schon durch die hervorragenden Darstelungen belegen und die gebräuchlichen Fachbegriffe sind auch für "Englisch-Anfänger" relativ schnell gelernt. Ein rundum tolles Bestimmungsbuch, welches ich für "spezialisierte" Libellenfreunde nur empfehlen kann.

Das Buch von Dijkstra u.a stellt eine wertvolle Bestimmungshilfe für die einheimische Libellenfauna dar. Die Kombination von Zeichnungen, Fotos und Text vereinfacht die Bestimmung auf Artebene im Gegensatz zu reinen Fotobänden. Die Artkapitel liefern darüber hinaus umfassende Informationen sowohl zum Lebensraum als auch zur Lebensweise der jeweiligen Arten.

Darf man auf eine deutsche Ausgabe hoffen?

Inhaltlich kann ich mich nur den anderen Rezensionen anschliessen. Ein absolutes Spitzenwerk. Trotz meinen guten Englischkenntnissen wünschte ich eine deutsche Ausgabe dieses Buches. Die englische Ausgabe wird im deutschsprachigen Raum wohl nur von den "Angefressenen" gekauft, und einzelne vermögen sie vielleicht nicht voll zu nutzen. Dabei würde die immense Information, die in diesem Werk steckt eine viel weitere Verbreitung verdienen.

Die attraktive Aufmachung stimuliert den Hunger erst recht, sich dieser Tiergruppe mehr zu widmen. In meinem Freundeskreis geht das parallel zum Beobachten von Vögeln, Schmetterlingen und Blumen. Für all diese Gruppen hat die Herausgabe guter Feldführer zu einer starken Popularisierung geführt.

Ist eigentlich kein Handbuch, sondern ein Lehrbuch mit vielen Übungen. Aber gerade deshalb finde ich es als Englisch-Lehrer Erwachsenenbildung ganz hervorragend.
